{Monday Motivation} I dread Mondays, too.

Love Mondays

Like you, I dread Mondays, too.  For me, the start of the week means not being able to spend time with Julia for the next six days.  Often times, I think about the things I DON'T like about my job.  Or I get tired instantly just by thinking about the heavy traffic in EDSA, the people I need to deal with or the tasks that I have to do.

Have you felt this way? Then you are a normal (and good looking!) working mom if you have.  It's so easy to be a NEGATRON (aka people who fall into the trap of negativity) and come up with all possible reasons not to go to work.

But there IS a way to deal with these Monday blues.  I myself don't wake up and automatically feel alive, alert, awake and enthusiastic.  So I need to "jump start" my Monday so that I start off the week happy!

Here are five ways I jump start my day -- and maybe they'll help you begin yours, too!

1.    Pray – It’s not all about telling Him about our heart's desires, it’s about listening too.  His will, not ours.  His strength, not ours.

2.    Smile + Hug from Julia - Her irresistible smile is my early morning coffee.  Her innocent face reminds me why I have to go to work.

3.    Go to work early.  Believe me, avoiding the rush hour traffic can do wonders to your mood.

4.    Laugh with Don - On our way to work, we listen to our favorite radio station (Morning Rush at 93.1) and we literally laugh out loud each morning.

5.    Breakfast + Coffee - It may be a biscuit, a Sausage Mcmuffin with Egg from drive thru or a hotdog with egg at the canteen.  It doesn't matter, I eat breakfast every day.  And it won't be complete without my coffee.  Our coffee in the office is one of the best I've tasted!

Lastly, I'd like to share with you a Bible verse that keeps me going on Mondays:

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters. (Colossians 3:23)

The Bible verse reminds me that my job is a gift from God. Through this gift, I am able to provide for my family.  Through this gift, I may be able to be a blessing to other people.  Therefore, I must work with all my heart to give glory to Him.  I will love my job because I love God.
