{Monday Motivation} Attitude and Gratitude

This week is not starting out right.  I woke up at 3:30am with a headache.  I woke up again at 5:30am still with a headache but this time, worse.  I was about to leave for work when I noticed that my baon was not prepared properly.  Homemade chicken nuggets swimming on sardines sauce.  Hmm, not a pretty sight.  Ate Annie used the wrong food container.  Don was already waiting so I hurriedly went to the car.  On our way to work, I couldn't recline my seat.  Julia's car seat is still at the back.  Ate Annie forgot (again) to remove it.  When I got to the office, paint smell was lingering along the hallway because we asked our contractors to paint some wall cabinets yesterday.  I am in-charge of Building Administration too so I expect complains because of this.

Wow, that all happened during the first two hours of my day.  I can feel my blood pressure rising.  Now the question is, will I let my bad start define my entire week?
No one else "makes us angry."  We make ourselves angry when we surrender control of our attitude.  What someone else may have done is irrelevant.  We choose, not they.  They merely out our attitude to a test.  If we select a volatile attitude by becoming hostile, angry, jealous or suspicious, then we have failed the test... (Jim Rohn)
So, I will restart my day with thanking God for all the blessings He has given me and my family.
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.                             (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

  1. Thank you, Lord for Don and Julia.  They make each day worth living.
  2. It has been raining for the past days.  Thank you, Lord for our car, Joaquin.  He makes our road trips easy and the traffic, bearable.
  3. They make mistakes and sometimes they drive me crazy.  But, they keep our home clean and orderly.  Thank you, Lord for Ate Lani and Ate Annie.
  4. We can't please everyone at work.  Some complain without an offer of understanding and sometimes they complain because they just want to.  They are just a few people I can count with one hand.  Bless them, Lord.  Melt the negativity and resentment that they are nurturing in their heart.  I thank you, Lord for employees who appreciate our work.  Bless them always.  Thank you as well for my efficient team members.  Continue to give them strength as we face our week at work.
I will take control of my attitude.  This is going to be difficult but I know only I can reverse my Monday chaos and make make today a good start of the week.

How's your Monday, so far?  Let me know what you are thankful for so we can all celebrate today with gratitude.
