{Monday Motivation} My Gratitude List: Top 5

Wow, it's already September and before we know it, we will be saying goodbye to 2012 and hello to 2013.  The past eight months have been filled with roller coaster rides...  Some are boring and predictable, others made me raise my hands with joy and some made my stomach turn.

This year is full of challenges but at the same time, it's full of wonderful blessings and awesome surprises.  I am always in awe whenever I think about how amazing God is.  His answers to my prayers may not always be a "yes," but He never fails to assure me that He has a better plan for our family.  Whenever I think about the things I am grateful for, the following blessings have always been my top 5:

Don
Don and I celebrated our 8th Wedding Anniversary this year.  This has been the most challenging year so far.  Thanks to friends who help us overcome our struggles, we are able resolve our issues with so much love and respect.  We are also thankful to Victory Fort for continuously conducting programs like Marriage Boosters and Parenting Conferences.

Julia
We waited for Julia for seven years and we consider her our rainbow after a terrible storm.  These are the reasons why we feel so blessed to have her in our life.  This year we celebrated her first birthday with our family, close relatives and friends.  We are happy that they love Julia as much as we do.

Family
We love our family and we are lucky to have them near us.  My mother-in-law lives with us so going to work is bearable knowing that she is home to look after Julia.  Though we have a yaya and a maid, we feel secure that she is home.  Our relatives are our life support.  They encourage us and help us.  There was a time when I forgot to pay our Meralco bill due to my busy schedule.  Our electricity was about to be cut by Meralco.  When my uncle heard about it (he is our neighbor), he immediately rushed to the nearest Meralco office to pay for our bill.  Their love for us is unconditional.  We love them so much.

Friends
We are so happy that this year, despite our work schedule, we are able to meet with close friends more frequently than the previous years.  As a bonus, God blessed us with new friends and opened our doors to rekindle old friendships.

Work
Though we marked 2012 as our financially challenging year, Don and I are so blessed to have good employers.  We are able to pay our bills and provide for the family.  We are grateful as well for our medical insurance benefits.  We complain about our work schedule but we are thankful that we like the kind of work that we do and we are happy with the careers we have chosen.

We still have four months before we officially end 2012.  Let us start the "ber" months and this week by recognizing and appreciating our blessings from God, shall we?
O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; For His loving kindness is everlasting. (1 Chronicles 16:34)
